Christoph Sperfeldt is a Senior Research Fellow at the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness at Melbourne Law School. From 2011 to 2018, he led the Handa Center's programs in the wider Southeast Asia region and supported research and capacity development in the areas of human rights, transitional justice and rule of law. Christoph was previously Senior Advisor with the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Cambodia. In this capacity, he worked from 2007 to 2010 as an Advisor to the Secretariat of the Cambodian Human Rights Action Committee (CHRAC) and from 2010 to 2011 as Advisor to the Victims Support Section of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC). Christoph holds a master's degree in Political Science from the University of Jena in Germany, and is a doctoral candidate at the School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet) of the Australian National University. He has published widely in the field of transitional justice and human rights.
