Alexis Kallen '18 is double majoring in Political Science and Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with minors in Human Rights and Spanish. She is passionate about the rights of girls and women in developing countries, which has led her to conduct research in a multitude of countries on women's issues. She is currently writing her senior honors thesis with the Center for Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law on the failure of international law to protect Burundian refugees from sexual assault. Outside of the classroom, Alexis is the Chair of Stanford in Government, an International Advisor to Girl Up, a UN Foundation, and the Co-Chair and Founder of the Scary Path Task Force. Alexis is a 2017 Harry S. Truman Scholar and hopes to pursue a career in international human rights law upon graduation.
