Clinica de Migrantes Film Screening & Panel Discussion

Join us for a film screening of Clinica de Migrantes, an HBO feature documentary from Maxim Pozdorovkin. Clinica de Migrantes follows the workers and patients of Puentes de Salud, a volunteer-run clinic that provides free medical care to undocumented immigrants in south Philadelphia, through months of routine care and growth.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion. Duncan Lawrence, Executive Director of Stanford’s Immigration Policy Lab, will discuss research on access to healthcare. Dr. Jason Wong, Medical Director of Health Services at Samaritan House, a local nonprofit, will discuss providing free medical care to uninsured people and community engaged learning opportunities for students.

In the midst of current and longstanding disparities in access to health care in the US, the film and ensuing discussion aim to highlight the challenges and necessity of providing healthcare to vulnerable populations.

Lunch will be provided.
